Beddington And Wallington

Sett. exam of Sarah NORTH (X) (40) sp 29 Mar 1781
  • She was born at Hounslow
  • Her parents were travellers
  • Her father's name was John
  • Neither her parents or herslf has ever had a place of settlement
  • She has cohabitated with Francis DAVIS a traveller, for 25 yrs
  • She has 11 children with Davis. 2 of these are with her - they are called Fortune & Sarah

Esher

Robert PAGGETT (X) otp, broom maker. 15 Feb 1772
  • He lived 23 or 24 y. in Esher
  • Never knew his father.
  • His mother was a traveller and doesn't know where she was settled.
  • He has a wife Mary.

Reigate

Elizabeth STEELE, dau.of John & Ann STEELE, a traveller, born 19 Oct bap. 27 Oct 1780

Guildford

Thomas GLEAVES (S). 23rd July 1811.
  • Is in H.M. 3rd Reg Dragoons.
  • Was born in Wolverstone Lancs.
  • His father being a pedlar - unknown place of settlement
  • Wife Wilmoth ?.daughter Elizabeth 1.1/2 yrs.

Mitcham

Th. HIGGS, labourer 20 June 1812
  • He does not know where he was born
  • father's settlement as he was a tramper, and died when he was 7.
  • He has not seen his mother for 30 yrs
  • Details given about his housong and work etc
  • He was married about 18 yrs ago at Beddington,
  • has 9 children at home, Jo. 15 yrs, Wi. 14 yrs, Jos. 10 yrs, Eliz. 8 yrs, Maria 6 yrs, Geo. 5 yrs, Ro. 4 yrs, He. 3 yrs, Mary 18 months.
