BIRCH Charlotte daughter of robert Birch and harriet Isaacs was born 1856 in street in somerset.she went on to own a boxing booth and became a very good women boxer.she married 3 times.the 1st time was to samuel frankum and the children she had with him were Harriet b.1881,Annie b.1880.Theodore also b.1881,John b.1883,Rose b.1889.George b.1886,and Willie b.1886.she then married Joseph Beckett and had Amy b.1892 and JOE BECKETT b.1894.joe Beckett went onto become the British Heavyweight Champion of great Britain in the 1920s.After joe Beckett sen., she married a chap called Gilham and had one son Reuben b.1898.When Charlotte started her boxing booth it was still the time of bare knuckle fighting!!George Frankum became known as George beckett and was said to be a better fighter than joe,but he had a taste for the ladies and didnt pursue his career with such zeal.Charlotte is buried in Southampton under the name of Charlotte Beckett.
